Devotions from the

Barefoot Pastor

The minute you drive a new car off the lot, it starts to devalue.

The second you buy the latest handheld technology and walk out of the store, it starts to become obsolete.

Hearing the most inspiring sermon on Sunday morning is forgotten by Wednesday as the world moves in swiftly.

Our most powerful weapon over the world’s lies is the words of Christ.

Just a few moments with a devotional that has been God inspired can give you courage and strength to face anything this world might throw at you.

Set your phone alarm on Wednesdays at high noon and read what God has for you in these devotions.

Feel Him smile when He hears Satan scream…

”Look out guys! It’s the alarm again!”

A collection of Devotionals from a Bare-Foot Pastor in Texas.

Journey to Bethlehem

The Christmas Story through the eyes of the
“Bare-foot Pastor”

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

This season, Christmas songs, tinsel, bells, and bows are everywhere. They’re there for all to see.

But what about the very first Christmas? What would you see if you were walking around Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago?

I can’t promise tinsel, bells, and bows, but there will be music. In fact, it’s the first Christmas song, sung by a host of heavenly angels.

Did you know that Noel means “the first Christmas song?”

Take those shoes off, and come join me as we travel through the hills of Judea. Come be a part of an eternal battle for truth in the small town of Nazareth.

We’ll pass through the historic city of Jerusalem on the way to a stable where the real journey of faith begins for us.

I know you’re thinking, “Really? Another Christmas book? I already know this story!”

Maybe you think you do, but through the “Revdeb version,” your toes sink into the sands of time, and your head becomes one with your heart.

Zechariah and Elizabeth, Mary and Joseph, a road trip, and the face of the forgotten shepherds will come alive for you in a way only God can deliver.

Are you ready? Then journey with me to Bethlehem, for a Savior has been born.

 The Story of Holy Week

Through the eyes of the

“Bare-foot Pastor”

Journey with me as we walk in the footsteps of Christ in that last week He was here on this earth.

By walking with me, you will not only get a better understanding of what God did for YOU over 2000 years ago, but also what He is continuing to do for you today.

I will tell you it is not an easy walk.  In fact, it will be the hardest walk you will ever take, but to truly understand what waking up on Easter Sunday morning means, you must walk the darkness of the week prior.

You will not walk it alone.  In fact, if you stay behind Jesus on this walk, and only place your feet in His footprints, your life will be changed.

Already a Christian?  It does not matter on this walk.

You know the scriptures inside and out?  It does not matter on this walk.

This walk is intended to change your heart.

This walk is intended to change your life.

This walk is intended to show you that no matter what situation you are in, Jesus understands because He has been there before you.

Are you ready?

Always remember it was not nails that held Jesus to that cross.  It was LOVE.

Open the pages to a love that will forever whisper to you, “I love you this much,” and He held out his arms on that cross for you.

 The Story of Esther

Through the eyes of the

“Bare-foot Pastor”

The story of Esther takes place long, long ago in a faraway place.

How is that for an opener to a rag to riches real life story?

I will never understand when people say the Bible is boring.  The story of Esther has everything a good vs evil plot needs.

Esther is the only book in the Bible that never has the word “God” in it.

Go ahead and check it out so you will know it’s true!

In the RevDeb version, I will tell you that many times in my walk with God I have told my congregation (s), to just live their faith.

You will bring more people to God through living out your faith than you will ever do by beating them over the head and heart with the Bible.

Esther is a great example of that.  It is a story best read from the heart, and if you do that, God is on every page and every word.
